What’s this? Did Marley secretly switch up her newsletter provider? 😏

I did! No more Mailchimp. Welcome to Beehiiv! It comes with a swanky little website feature for the newsletter archive as well, which doubles nicely as a journal-like space. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

I also migrated my website host from poopy Bluehost to an indie company called PorkBun. So far so good! I’m already spending less money because Bluehost can no longer hike costs and hide their rates on me.

In addition, I snagged myself a Shopify account. My store isn’t available yet, but we’re getting there. Soon, Studiomoonyn.com will be a real store! :D

So yeah, mostly some maintenance stuff, cleaning things up, making things efficient for myself. I’m on a maintaining spree, I suppose, because I’m also getting quotes on fixing the porch roof. Which has plants growing in it.

I’m worried that the insurance for next year will be frustratingly annoying about it, so I want to be prepared.

Overall though, April was pretty uneventful. My birthday was a few days ago, and I’m now 33. Work was busy, and I spent my evenings painting a book cover commission. I haven’t read many new books lately—just listening to music.

I spent my birthday just chilling and watching YouTube videos, hanging with friends and family. I took 3 days off work, which is what I wanted more than anything else, to be honest. I have a slow-rising goal of being able to take time off work for like, 6 months, and focus on something else for a bit. But that’s many, many years off.

I do have a work trip to New York coming up next week though. I’ll be there for a full week. Expecting 12 hours days here and there, and to be mentally exhausted by the end. I’m gonna miss my lil’ doggie something fierce.

But what can ya do? Gotta make that paper, am I right?

Progress here! I finished an outline, and I’ve got it on review for my writing group. Very curious to know what other people think about it.

vTubing

No updates here, but I am thinking a lot about it. Coming up with the persona of my character, mostly. I’m wondering if I should play her as coming from the world in my stories, and make things tie into them… a few fun ideas are bubbling up. 

I’m thinking of writing out a few of the ideas for the videos. We’ll see where we can go. I have a painting commission I’m finishing up. But after that, really hoping to ramp up progress.
