#25. January: Avoiding the Horrors

Avoiding the Horrors of the world by having projects. So many projects!

January begin-eth and it end-eth. It felt like January lasted FOREVER. It still feels like January. Except Florida is already warming up. Sad!

The biggest update is that I have final images of the bathroom to share, with shelves all up and towels all settled instead of tossed on the floor.

Finalized Bathroom!

View from the shower!

It’s a pleasure to be in there now. I’m so happy with it! I want to take a shower ALL THE TIME now.

With both bathrooms redone, I’m also out a lot of money. So it’s time to save up what I can and be a hermit for a while. Recover financially!

Focus Time!

Munikiniverse Outlines

I managed to finish all five of my in-progress Munikiniverse outlines! Woohoo! Now they are all getting reviewed.

I think early February will be a month of manuscript reviews for me, as I’m exchanging feedback with the group. But I also have to actually start writing these things.

I threw together a tentative plan just to see it visually. Hopefully I can stay on this track!

UPDATE FROM EARLY FEB: Haha I’ve recorded two of the scripts now! So definitely more to update in Feb :3

Progress here! Just a little, anyway. I’m slowly picking away at the scripts for Season 1. I think I have a better idea of the tone now that I’ve sat with it for a while and played around with how I want to be perceived.

I was supposed to have a finished video this month, but that didn’t happen. I realized mid-week halfway through January that I’d completely fallen off this one. So I definitely need to keep on track with it for Feb.

Videos will be worked on next month. I’ll have to make two of them! Oof…. growing pains I suppose.

Author Website

So… this is something I started this month as well. Like I needed another project! But this is important to my whole process, so…

Putting together a website where I can host my stories and have full control. I’m learning–with a lot of guidance from Michael Kitchener in my writing group (thank you Michael!!)--how to set up a basic database of content and work more with Javascript on the frontend of a website.

It’s coming along well! I’ve managed to have the site function decently. Here’s what it looks like:

Dynamic Characters Schoolism Class

Not too much to report here! Just a few sketch practices here and there. I messed around with drawing hands for a while. The hand still eludes me. But I got to play around a bit and add some drawing time in.

Sadly I dropped off on this near the end of the month… sigh.

I think I’ve gotten all the practical skills I can out of this one. So I’m finally going to start the STORYBOARDING CLASSES. Yessssss. I’m stoked!

Bujo Check In~

Got a better cadence with this tracking! Mid-month always seems to get busy and I don’t have time to make note of the time. But I really do like seeing a visual version of how my time gets spent.

I did make some mistakes at the bottom because I didn’t line up the hours correctly… but this is an approximation anyway. I will do better next time!

So much of my life is spent at work…
