#28. April to Mid-August: Guess I Died
In which I return from the Dead!

Hi.
Been a while, hasn’t it?
One of those things about life is that it sometimes completely consumes you. And that’s pretty much what happened!
After the bathroom renovations in March, a lot happened. Work got crazy. And a bunch of house things needed fixing all at once.
I’ll spare all the details. But basically, the following things happened:
My car needed fixing. Brake replacements and such.
My boss got furious with me for working from the car fixing place. And that kick started a whole set of work issues. They are settled now but… boy. It sucked.
Got a mini-split AC unit upstairs.
But it was installed badly, and I had to hound the folks to fix it

WTF! Ugly tube!!
Surprise! Kitchen reno.
My leaky sink turned into two months of unexpected and unplanned kitchen fixing. I did the entire backsplash myself and learned some tile cutting skills. The short of it is: boy do I hate tile!!

Erosion issue fix.
My little brother came over to help me remove this shed behind my house and also build a little retaining wall to help with an erosion issue.

Kitchen still needs to be painted. And the erosion issue is still not perfectly squared away. But we’re getting there.
I needed a break from all the house stuff, so I’m trying to get back into the habit of my newsletter. And writing!
SFWA Mentorship and Grad School
In addition to those things, I also went through a mentorship with the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA) from April to May. I learned SO MUCH about independent publishing from my mentor, Tracy Cooper-Posey. Definitely check out her books if you need some stories to read: https://storiesrulepress.com/about/
I’ve also solidified my plans for my Munikiniverse project. I’ve aligned all the courses to my Munikiniverse project, and I’m hoping to leverage the resources at the college to get the project underway more formally.
My first classes begin next week!
I’m excited about it.
It’s been very stressful these last few months, and while I know going to school will also be stressful, I think I’ll have more support for my Munikiniverse project.
I also signed up for an animation class being given by Aaron Blaise in November! So that is also exciting.
I’ve been rethinking this newsletter as well. As my vTuber stuff comes together, I’m thinking that my newsletter may just be consumed by that project. Rather than writing these newsletters, I’ll just vlog them, and then send out the link to the videos in the newsletter each month.
But I am still working on a process for producing the videos so that they don’t take 500 years to complete. So, until then, you’ll keep seeing the writing! Probably not as much, however. I’m carefully making space for other things.

That’s all for now! I’ll do my best to keep on top of newsletters going forward. At least until they become vlogs!
